SciGuide is an electronic navigator of foreign open access scientific resources on the Internet. The aim of the navigator is to assist users find open access academic and scholarly content and to facilitate science communication for researchers and experts of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences (SB RAS). The navigator is being developed jointly by the Branch and the Department of Foreign Collection Development of the State Public Scientific Technical Library of SB RAS.

*ARKive (www.arkive.org/)*A resource of Wildscreen international organization that was created with Abu-Dhabi Environment Agency and supported by sir David Attenborough, the world famous naturalist. Unique photos of flora and fauna of the Earth are presented.
*Anthrosource (www.anthrosource.net)*Anthrosource offers a digital searchable database containing the past, present and future AAA publications, more than 250,000 articles from AAA journals, newsletters, bulletins and monographs in a single place, and cross-disciplinary resources for all things anthropological.
*Barcode of Live (www.barcodeoflife.org/)*Barcode of Live is a project that comes from Paul Hebert's discovery (the University of Guelph in Ontario, Canada). It makes it possible to identify distinct species from special DNA characteristics.
*Biological Macromolecule Crystallization Database (xpdb.nist.gov:8060/BMCD4)*The site contains molecule, crystal and crystallization data for macromolecules for which diffraction quality crystals have been obtained. These include proteins and nucleic acids, various complexes, and viruses.
*Birding News and Features - eBird (ebird.org)*eBird's goal is to maximize the utility and accessibility of bird observations made each year by recreational and professional bird watchers. In 2006, participants reported more than 4.3 million bird observations across North America.

*HIV databases (www.hiv.lanl.gov)*HIV databases contain data on HIV genetic sequences, immunological epitopes, drug resistance-associated mutations, and vaccine trials. The website also gives access to a large number of tools that can be used to analyze these data.
*Insects and Entomology (www.ent.iastate.edu/List)*Iowa State Entomology Index of Internet Resources on entomology.
*Interactive list of biological databases (www.oxfordjournals.org/nar/database/c/)*A catalogue of biological data bases of a broad scope that is published by Nucleic Acids Research (NAR) Journal.
*KEGG LIGAND Database (www.genome.jp)*It is a database consisting of chemical substances and reactions that are relevant to life. It is a composite database consisting of COMPOUND, GLYCAN, REACTION, RPAIR, and ENZYME databases, whose entries are identified by C, G, R, RP, and EC numbers, respectively. ENZYME is derived from the IUBMB/IUPAC Enzyme Nomenclature, but the others are internally developed and maintained.

*Medscape Reference (reference.medscape.com/)*E-Science project of WebMD Health Professional Network in partnership with numerous academic institutions offers articles into medical specialties
*Plants For A Future (www.pfaf.org/user/plantsearch.aspx)*Plants For A Future (PFAF) data base that includes about 7000 plant species
*Protein Information Resource (www-nbrf.georgetown.edu/)  ► NBRF database accumulates data on proteins since 1984. This is a product of cooperation of NBRF (USA), MIPS (Germany), and JIPID (Japan International Protein Information Database). In Russia, site of A.N. Belozersky Institute of Physico-Chemical Biology keeps a regularly updated copy (mirror) of the database.
