SciGuide is an electronic directory of foreign and Russian open access scientific resources on the Internet. The aim of the directory is to assist users to locate open access academic and scholarly content and to facilitate science communication for researchers and experts of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences (SB RAS). The directory is being developed jointly by the Branch and the Department of Collection Development and Acquisitions of the State Public Scientific Technical Library of SB RAS.

*ABC Chemistry (abc-chemistry.org/)*A directory of free full text peer reviewed journals in chemistry.
*Academic Journals Database (journaldatabase.info/ )*A universal index of periodical literature covering basic research from all fields of knowledge, and is particularly strong in medical research, humanities and social sciences. Academic Journals Database contains complete bibliographic citations, precise indexing, and informative abstracts for papers from a wide range of periodicals. All journals are searchable on article level. Full-text from most of the articles is available.
*African Journals OnLine (AJOL) (www.ajol.info/)*Published in Africa, journals in all subjects. Optional full-text access. The resource is part of a global project Journals Online, the portal that grants access to journals of less developed countries.
*ANNO (anno.onb.ac.at/)  ►Digital archive of historical Austrian newspapers and magazines, published between 1716 - 1940. ANNO, which is short for "AustriaN Newspapers Online," is a digitization initiative of the Austrian National Library and functions as its "virtual newspaper reading room." This web resource makes historical Austrian newspapers and magazines available for online browsing and reading. Search options include browse-by-title, a list for access by specific year, and field searching for a few selected newspapers.
*AU Press (www.aupress.ca)*Athabasca University Press is Canada’s first open access scholarly press. Founded in 2007.
*Bangladesh Journals OnLine(www.banglajol.info/)*Journals on various subjects that are published in Bangladesh. Optional full-text access. The resource is part of a global project Journals Online, the portal that grants access to journals of less developed countries.
*BazTech (yadda.icm.edu.pl/baztech/)* The "Polish Technical Journal Contents" BazTech is a bibliographic database containing citations from the Polish technical journals on engineering, technology, sciences and the environment.
*Bioline International (www.bioline.org.br)*A resource of Bioline International publishing cooperative that is developed in collaboration with Reference Center of Environment Information and with University of Toronto Scarborough Department of Social Sciences. It offers access to scholarly journals of less developed countries (Bangladesh, Brazil, Chile, Ghana, Kenya) on tropical medicine, infection diseases, epidemiology, and environment.
*BioMed Central (www.biomedcentral.com)*BioMed Central is Science, Technology and Medicine publisher which has pioneered the open access publishing model.
*Cambridge University Press. Open-access books and journals (cambridge.org/core/publications/open-access)  ►Cambridge University Press is the publishing division of the University of Cambridge, one of the world’s leading research institutions and winner of 81 Nobel Prizes. Cambridge University Press is committed by its charter to disseminate knowledge as widely as possible across the globe. It publishes over 2,500 books a year for distribution in more than 200 countries. Cambridge Journals publishes over 250 peer-reviewed academic journals across a wide range of subject areas, in print and online.
*De Gruyter Open (degruyter.com/)* De Gruyter is the largest independent academic publisher of open access books, with more than 1000 available open access books.
*DigiZeitschriften (www.digizeitschriften.de/openaccess/)*Open part of Das Deutsche Digitale Zeitschriftenarchiv project that offers an option to get full texts of certain scholarly journals
*Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ) (www.doaj.org)*This service covers free full text quality controlled scientific and scholarly journals. There are now 4646 journals in the directory. As of today 349022 articles are included in the DOAJ service. The Project of Lund University Library.
*Disseropedia of Russian Journals (dissernet.org/)* A list of Russian journals taken from the extended list of the Higher Attestation Commission (including such bibliometric databases as AGRIS, RSCI WoS, Scopus and others) that show signs of unethical editorial policy.
*Drevnyaya Rus’. Voprosy Medievistiki (www.drevnyaya.ru/)* Published by «Indrik» quarterly since 2000 «Old Russia, the Issues of Middle Ages» became the leading cross-disciplinary journal covering the field of Old Russia Medieval Studies in history, linguistics, literature, philosophy and art. The founder of the journal is the Institute of Slavic Studies (the Russian Academy of Sciences).
*E-periodica (e-periodica.ch/digbib/home/)* E-Periodica is the new platform for digitized Swiss journals, replacing its predecessor retro.seals.ch. It offers free access to the full texts of more than 400 journals from the 18th century to the present day. The topics include science and engineering, art and architecture, history, geography and religion. The service is constantly being expanded. The journal articles are available for download as PDF and can be shared via social media services. E-Periodica behaves responsively and can also be used on mobile devices. Thanks to accessibility, users can have the articles read out loud to them
*Die Elektronische Zeitschriftenbibliothek (rzblx1.uni-regensburg.de)*This is a service to facilitate the use of scholarly journals on the internet. It offers a fast, structured and unified interface to access full text articles online.
*eLIBRARY.RU (elibrary.ru/projects/subscription/rus_titles_free.asp)* Open access Russian journals hosted by eLIBRARY.RU.
*The Enago Open Access Journal Finder (www.enago.com/academy/journal-finder/)*The Enago Open Access Journal Finder enables you to find quality open access journals that are pre-vetted to protect you from predatory publishers. This free journal finder solves common issues on predatory journals, journal authenticity, and article processing fees by utilizing a validated journal index provided by the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ). Enago’s proprietary search algorithm helps you shortlist journals that are most relevant to your manuscript and research objectives, thus giving you the best chance of publication.
*ERICH PLUS (kanalregister.hkdir.no/publiseringskanaler/erihplus/)* ERIH PLUS is an academic journal index for the HSS (Humanities and Social Sciences) society in Europe. They provide article search facilitated by Dimensions which allow exploration of the 10 000+ ERIH PLUS journals in detail. They also mark the individual journals thoroughly with key information like open access status and plan S compliance. All are invited to submit journals to be indexed in ERIH PLUS.
*Free Medical Journals (www.freemedicaljournals.com)*Journals on biology, cardiology, endocrinology, infectious diseases etc.
*Genamics JournalSeek (www.journalseek.net)*Genamics JournalSeek is the largest completely categorized database of freely available journal information available on the internet. Journal information includes the description, journal abbreviation, journal homepage link, and ISSN. JournalSeek does not contain articles or abstracts.
*Göttingen University Press (www.univerlag.uni-goettingen.de/)* The publishing house of Göttingen University. It supports the principles of Open Access, i.e. the provision of online content for users free of costs and limitations.
*Gramota (gramota.net/)  ► Gramota Publishing Company offers access to more than 28 000 research papers. The publishing house has been founded in 2006. Two of its journals are included in the list of peer-reviewed journals, recommended by the Higher Attestation Commission of Russia.
*Hrcak (Portal of Croatian scientific and professional journals) (hrcak.srce.hr)*The portal includes journals on natural, technical sciences, biomedicine and health, humanities. It contains 201 journals and 44165 articles with full texts.
*IEEE Open Access Journals (open.ieee.org/)  ► IEEE offers more than 20 technically focused gold fully open access journals spanning a wide range of fields, 160 hybrid journals that support open access, including many of the top-cited titles in the field, and the multidisciplinary, gold fully open access journal of the IEEE, publishing high quality research across all of IEEE’s fields of interest.
*Indian Medlars Centre (medind.nic.in/)*Open access to full-text articles of 38 Indian leading medical journals.
*The Ioffe Institute (journals.ioffe.ru/)  ► The Ioffe Institute journals, Russia. Access to full texts of papers published since 1997.
*Journal Reading Room (Zhurnal'nyi zal) (magazines.gorky.media/)  ► An internet project providing access to Russian “thick” fiction journals and journals on various topics of humanities published in Russia and abroad. Started in 1996.
*JournalMap (www.journalmap.org/)*A scientific literature search engine that empowers you to find relevant research based on location and biophysical attributes combined with traditional keyword searches. All publications are geotagged based on reported location information and plotted on a world map showing where the research was conducted allowing you to easily visualize the research occurring in specific areas and show you where data gaps might exist.
*JournalTOCs (www.journaltocs.ac.uk)* JournalTocs is a the largest , free collection of scholarly journal Tables of Contents (TOCs).
*Journals of the Russian Academy of Sciences (elibrary.ru/titlerefgroup)* Journals of the Russian Academy of Sciences in the open access.
*Kamla-Raj Enterprises (www.krepublishers.com/KRE-New-J/)*Indian scholarly journals portal that has been created by Kamla-Raj Enterprises publishing house.
*Karger. Open Access Journals (karger.com/)  ► Karger Open Access empowers researchers, policy makers and others to easily read and share trusted, peer-reviewed articles in health sciences, facilitating a rapid and impactful exchange of knowledge in these communities. Over 35 Open Access journals titles comprise nearly the entire medical spectrum.
*Librarium.fr (librarium.fr/ru/magazines)*An archive of hundreds illustrated publications Russian emigration did between World Wars I and II. Every week we add some more very rare magazines and newspapers never republished and almost unknown; sometimes they appear the auctions of Russian antiques alongside with Faberge eggs and pictures by Russian masters.
*Living Reviews (www.livingreviews.org)*Living Reviews are scientific open-access journals, publishing review articles that provide insightful surveys on the research progress and literature in Relativity and Gravitation, Solar and Heliospheric Physics, and Computational Astrophysics. Its unique concept allows authors to regularly update their articles to incorporate the latest developments.
*MDPI (Molecular Diversity Preservation International) (www.mdpi.com)*MDPI.com is a platform for open access journals published by MDPI, an international organization based in Basel, Switzerland, publishing several open access journals since 1996. Journals published include Molecules, the International Journal of Molecular Sciences, and Sensors, launched in 2001.
*Misleading Metrics (beallslist.weebly.com/misleading-metrics.html)* A list of questionable companies that purport to provide valid scholarly metrics at the researcher, article, or journal level.
*OAJI (oaji.net/)* A full-text database of open-access scientific journals.
*Paperity (paperity.org)  ► Paperity is the first multi-disciplinary aggregator of Open Access journals and papers, "gold" and "hybrid". It gives readers easy and unconstrained access to thousands of journals from hundreds of disciplines, in one central location; helps authors reach their target audience, disseminate discoveries more effectively and maximize research impact; raises exposure of journals, boosts their readership and encourages new manuscript submissions.
*Persee.fr (www.persee.fr)*Persee.fr - an electronic library of french journals on social sciences and humanities, created in 2005.
*PLoS (www.plos.org)*A nonprofit open-access science, technology and medicine publisher, innovator and advocacy organization with a library of open-access journals and other scientific literature under an open-content license.
*PsyJournals.ru (psyjournals.ru/)* A web project that provides access to leading full-text electronic Russian academic and scholarly periodicals in psychology and education.
*PubMed Central (www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc)*PubMed Central® (PMC) is a free full-text archive of biomedical and life sciences journal literature at the U.S. National Institutes of Health's National Library of Medicine (NIH/NLM).
*ResearchBib (/www.researchbib.com/)* ResearchBib is a free academic database that indexes and provides access to peer-reviewed journals, full text papers, research conferences and positions.
*Retraction Watch Database (retractiondatabase.org/)  ►The database is an offshoot of a blog started in 2010 by two medical reporters, Ivan Oransky and Adam Marcus. After many years of development, in October 2018, such a database was indeed launched. The Retraction Watch Database does not just pull retractions from existing databases like PubMed or publishers’ sites, rather it is a curated, searchable database of over 19,000 retractions (more than you will find elsewhere). Each record is assigned a reason(s) for retraction, including concerns about data, conflict of interest, error in image, falsification/fabrication of results, and misconduct. Also included in the database are corrections and expressions of concern.
*RINTS elibrary.ru/project_risc.asp)* Russian Index of Scientific Citation. The national scientific citation indexing service. The database contains more than 12 million publications of Russian authors, as well as citation information from more than 6000 Russian journals. The Russian Index of Scientific Citation has been maintained since 2009 by the Scientific Electronic Library.
*Road (road.issn.org)* Launched in December 2013, ROAD provides a free access to those ISSN bibliographic records which describe scholarly resources in Open Access: journals, monographic series, conference proceedings, academic repositories and scholarly blogs. These records, created by the ISSN Network (90 National Centres worldwide + the International Centre), are enriched by information extracted from indexing and abstracting databases, directories (DOAJ, Latindex, The Keepers registry) and journals indicators (Scopus).
*Royal Society of Chemistry. Open Access (rsc.org/)  ► Journals, books and databases of the Royal Society of Chemistry in open access.
*SciELO (www.scielo.cl/scielo.php?script=sci_home&lng=en&nrm=iso)*Collection of Chilean scholarly journals in various fields. It is prepared by the State Committee of Scientific and Technological Research of Chile. Full texts are available in Spanish.
*Scilit (scilit.net/)* The name Scilit uses components of the words “scientific” and “literature”. This database of scholarly works is developed and maintained by the open access publisher MDPI. Scilit is a comprehensive, free database for scientists using a new method to collate data and indexing scientific material. Its crawlers extract the latest data from CrossRef and PubMed on a daily basis. This means that newly published articles are added to Scilit immediately.
*The SCImago Journal & Country Rank (www.scimagojr.com)*The SCImago Journal & Country Rank is a portal that includes the journals and country scientific indicators developed from the information contained in the Scopus® database (Elsevier B.V.).
*Unpaywall (unpaywall.org/)* Unpaywall is a free web-browser extension that hunts for papers in more than 5,300 repositories worldwide, including preprint servers and institutional databases. Once installed in Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox, Unpaywall brings up a green or grey tab at the screen side when hitting a paywalled paper.
*Web of Science. Master Journal List (clarivate.com/)* Web of Science. Science citation index expanded. Master Journal List.
*Wiley Open Access (authorservices.wiley.com/open-research/open-access/browse-journals.html)  ► Wiley Open Access publishes authoritative peer reviewed open access journals across many research disciplines. Wiley Open Access journals are supported by a network of authoritative journals and societies as well as internationally renowned editorial board members. All research articles published in Wiley Open Access journals are immediately freely available to read, download and share. Wiley Open Access publishes a number of online journals across biological, chemical and health sciences.
*World of Journals (журнальныймир.рф/)  ► The project of the oldest literary Russian journal “Sibirskie Ogni” featuring Russian language literary journals and yearbooks published in Russia.
*WorldScientificOpen (worldscientific.com/page/open/)  ►World Scientific Publishing Co Pte Ltd was established in 1981 with only 5 employees in a tiny office. Today, the company employs about 200 staff at its headquarters in Singapore and 450 globally. It has offices in New Jersey, London, Munich, Geneva, Tokyo, Hong Kong, Taipei, Beijing, Shanghai, Tianjin and Chennai.
