Academician Nikolai Nikolayevich Vorozhtsov (1907-1979) is a greatest expert in the field of theoretical and applied organic chemistry. He has made a tremendous contribution to the investigation of natural aromatic, heterocyclic, and hetero-organic compounds. The development of national chemical science and industry, and particularly in Siberia, is inextricably entwined with his name.

Since 1958 to 1975, he headed the Novosibirsk institute of organic chemistry (NIOCh) where he brought many disciples from D.I.Mendeleev Moscow institute of chemistry and technology during the years of the formative stage. In Siberia, he has created one of the largest scientific schools, where many great scientists have grown who then created their own schools.

N.N.Vorozhtsov took an immediate part in creating Novosibirsk state university; he was the organizer and the first Head of the Sub-Faculty of Organic Chemistry.

The name of academician N.N.Vorozhtsov has been given to Novosibirsk institute of organic chemistry; his memory has been immortalized on the memorial board on the building of the institute; the N.N.Vorozhtsov premium has been founded for SB RAS young scientists and his grant for NSU students. The exposition in the NIOCh history museum is devoted to him.

The electronic resource that deals with the life and work of N.N.Vorozhtsov is composed of a biobibliographic index, tables of monograph contents, and of full text collections of certain works of the scientist and publications about him.

The biobibliographic index reflects learned works, editorial works, certificates of authorship for the inventions and patents, publicistic articles, as well as the literature on the scientist.

The founders of the resource express their thanks to Lenina Kuzminichna Kazachok, the collaborator of the Novosibirsk institute of organic chemistry of SB RAS, for the given materials into the biobibliography of the scientist, and thank the collaborators of the NIOCh library for the help in our working on the index of works.
