Academician Vladimir Vasilyevich Struminsky (1914-1998) is an outstanding scientist in the field of aerodynamics and theoretical bases of aircraft construction. Since 1966 to 1971 he headed the Institute of theoretical and applied mechanics (ITAM SB AS USSR) and he was the chief of sub-faculty of gas dynamics of the Novosibirsk state university. Since 1968 to1972 he was the editor-in-chief of magazine "Izvyestiya Sibirskogo otdyelyeniya AN SSSR". Down to the last days of his life, he was faithful to the scientific path that he had chosen in his youth and he gave all his thoughts and forces to the research in the field of the kinetic theory of gases.

The electronic resource that is devoted to his life and work is composed of a biobibliographic index, tables of contents of monographs and collection issues, and full texts of certain works of the scientist and publications about him.

Biobibliographic index reflects learned works, editorial works, certificates of authorship on inventions and patents, publicistic articles, and public speeches, as well as the literature on the scientist.

Materials of the index are arranged chronologically in two basic sections: "Index of works" of V.V.Struminskii (with the list of inventions) and "the Literature on his life and work".

The sources that we failed to see de visu have been remarked with * ("an asterisk"). The index employs standard abbreviations.

When working on the biobibliography, catalogues, stocks, and electronic resources of the Russian State Library (RGB), the State public scientific and technical library of Russia (GPNTB), the Library on natural sciences of RAS (BEN RAN), VINITI, the State public scientific and technical library of the Siberian branch of RAS (GPNTB SO RAN) and of the library of the Institute of theoretical and applied mechanics of SB RAS (STL of ITAM SB RAS ) have been used together with the biobibliographic index "Vladimir Vasilyevich Struminsky" that has been published in 1993 within a series "Materials to the biobibliography of scientists".
