Academician Sergey Konstantinovich Godunov is one of the brightest representatives of Russian and world computer science of the 20 century, the recognized leader of the present-day applied mathematics. The scientist of a wide spectrum of scientific interests, he made a fundamental contribution to the development of computational mathematics, numerical methods of mechanics of continuous media, of the theory of quasi-linear differential equations.

A school S.K.Godunov created unites integrally the theory of hyperbolic equations with hydrodynamics and the theory of elasticity, difference methods to solve differential equations and mathematical physics, linear algebra and problems of thermodynamics of continuous media.

He published more than 300 scholarly articles including 16 monographs, many of which are translated to foreign languages.

Using textbooks and lectures of S.K.Godunov in Moscow and Novosibirsk Universities, a numerous cohort of doctors and candidates of sciences, high-skilled researchers has grown.

A testimony for the world-recognized scientific merits of academician S.K.Godunov were international conferences abroad that centered on his methods. The first of them, «Godunov's Method for Dynamics: Current Applications and Future Developments», was held in the USA (Ann Arbor, MI, May 1-3, 1997), the second one, «Godunov's Methods: Theory and Applications» (Oxford, May 12-22, 1999), in Great Britain.

The electronic resource that deals with life and work of academician S.K.Godunov consists of a biobibliographic index, tables of contents of monographs and collection issues, references to full texts of some works of the scientist, and publications about him.

The biobibliographic index reflects proceedings, editorial works, publicistic articles, and the literature about the scientist. Founders of the resource are grateful to the employees of the library of S.L.Sobolev Institute of Mathematics of SB RAS for their consultations and given materials for the biobibliography.

In our work, we used a biobibliographic index «Syergyei Konstantinovich Godunov» that was prepared and published in the Institute of Mathematics in 2009 (the composer: M.L.Konovodchenko), as well as the catalogues, the stocks, and electronic resources of SPSL SB RAS and the library of the Institute of Mathematics . The search was performed also in abstract magazines, in the Annals of journal papers, in Book Annals, in Annals of newspapers. Databases like Scopus, Web of Science, Zentralblatt MATH were used, together with mathematical portal Math-Net.Ru, electronic catalogues, and databases of large Russian and foreign libraries.
