Academician Alexander Alekseevich Borovkov is an eminent scientist-mathematician, a great professional in the field of probability theory and mathematical statistics, the founder and the head of the probability school, well-known in the scientific world. He advanced substantially in such directions as limit theorems for random processes, asymptotic methods of mathematical statistics, theory of upkeep systems, Markov processes, boundary problems for random walks. He is the author of more than 400 learned works that include several monographs and textbooks. He was rewarded with the State premium of the USSR (1979) for his research into asymptotic methods of probability theory, with A.A.Markov premium (2003) for a cycle of works into limit theorems for random processes, the Premium of the Russian Federation government (2003) for creating the textbooks on probability theory and mathematical statistics for the institutions of higher professional education.

The electronic resource that deals with life and activity of academician A.A.Borovkov is composed of a biobibliographic index, tables of contents of monographs and collection issues, links to full texts of certain works of the scientist, and publications about him.

The biobibliographic index reflects learned works, editorial works, publicistic papers as well as the literature about the scientist. Founders of the resource express their thanks to the employees of the library of S.L.Sobolev Institute of mathematics of SB RAS for their consulting and for the given materials to the biobibliography.

This study made use of the biobibliographic index «Alexander Alekseevich Borovkov» that had been prepared and published in the Institute of Mathematics in 2001 (compiled by: M.L.Konovodchenko, V.M.Pestunova), together with catalogues, funds, and electronic resources of SPSL of SB RAS and the library of the SB RAS Institute of mathematics. The search base included also abstract journals, the annals of journal articles, the book annals, the annals of newspaper articles. The use was made of Scopus databases, Web of Science, Zentralblatt MATH, a mathematical portal Math-Net.Ru, electronic catalogues and databases of large Russian and foreign libraries.
