Academician V.V.Boldyrev is an outstanding scientist, specialist in mechanochemistry, an organizer of science, and a talented teacher.
V.V.Boldyrev has created the Siberian scientific school in solid-state chemistry. He supervised the defense of 11 doctor and 40 dissertations of candidate of sciences. Two of his disciples were elected corresponding members of RAS.
Vladimir Vyacheslavovich has made a great contribution to the study of reactivity of solids with the aim to control chemical reactions that occur in the solid state, to recognize the interrelation between the reaction mechanism and the part played by defects in crystals. A distinctive feature of the research and the projects of the school of academician V.V.Boldyrev is the practical orientation of the findings. They appeared to be useful in creating new kinds of photographic processes, materials for stomatology, instant medicinal forms, hydrogen accumulators, in the development of processes to extract lithium from natural high mineralized waters by intercalation procedure.
V.V.Boldyrev has a rating of about 900 learned works that include 9 monographs, about 70 inventions and patents.
For a number of years, V.V.Boldyrev is a member of editorial board of scientific magazines and publications: Kinetics and catalysis; News of SB AS USSR, chemical series; Magazine of scientific and applied photo and cinematography; Magazine of inorganic chemistry; Magazine of physical chemistry; Inorganic materials; Progress of chemistry; Chemistry for sustainable development; Annales de Chemie (Masons, Paris); Reactivity of Solids (Elsevier, Amsterdam), Journal of Materials Synthesis and Processing (Plenum, New York); Communications in Kinetics and Catalysis (Elsevier, Amsterdam; Acad. Kiado, Budapest); Reviews in Solid State Chemistry (World Scientific, Singapore); Molecular Solid State Series (Wiley, Chichester); Materials Science Foundation (Encyclopedia for the New Millenium) (Trans. Tech., Zurich).
The electronic resource that is devoted to his life and work is composed of a biobibliographic index, tables of contents of monographs, and the collection issues of full texts of certain works of the scientist and publications about him.
The biobibliographic index reflects learned works, editorial works, certificates of authorship for inventions and patents, publicistic articles, as well as the literature about the scientist.
Founders of the resource express their thanks to Lyudmila Andreevna Tolochko (the director of the library) and Antonina Petrovna Polyakova, the collaborators of the SB RAS Institute of Solid State Chemistry and Mechanochemistry for the given materials on the biobibliography of V.V.Boldyrev.
When working on the biobibliography catalogues, we used the stocks and electronic resources of the State Public Scientific Technical Library of SB RAS (including the databases "Novosibirsk Scientific-and-educational complex" and "Science in Siberia and in the Far East") and the library of SB RAS Institute of Solid State Chemistry and Mechanochemistry, as well as Internet resources.
Materials of the index are arranged chronologically in two basic sections: "Index of works of V.V.Boldyrev" and "Literature on his life and work".
The sources that we failed to see de visu have been remarked with an asterisk *. Standard abbreviations are used throughout the index.
