The book contains 70 examples of Yukaghir folklore. Its basis is composed of texts recorded by A. N. Laptev and G. N Kurilov among the Tundra Yukaghirs. Also appearing here are previously published examples of Forest Nenets folklore, as well as texts from the book by V. I. Jochelson that appeared in 1900.
All of the texts are rendered in modern orthography. Appendices contain photographic reproductions of V. I. Jochelson's book representing both Yukaghir dialects.
The compact disc contains 52 examples of Yukaghir folklore: songs, tales, onomatopoeia, shamanic refrains and round dance singing. This is the first large audio recording of Yukaghir folklore.
